One Sun

“Janet lives in England, Pierre lives in France and Bonnie lives in Canada”..
“Ahmed lives in Egypt, Moshe lives in Israel and Kimberly lives in Australia”..
“Ching lives in China, Olga lives in Russia and Helmut lives in Germany”..
“Reza lives in Indonesia, Pablo lives in Spain and Estrella lives in Columbia”..

We all see only one sun, the hot disc of every clear daytime. No matter where we place ourselves in the world, there’s only one sun - the light that gives us hope, reminds us of our home, our childhoods and those we love that we left behind. The same sun shines on us all…

Have you grown attached to people that you just see every day? maybe not interact with them on any level except perhaps that elusive eye contact you have with them every day...

What if one day you landed in office and you found one of them missing...would you ask for them?
Especially if they've acknowledged you with a look every time they see you while they walked by in the corridor...

The sun spends almost twelve hours a day "at work" while some of us acknowledge it...and some don't.

I wonder how must it feel to set carrying the memory of one set of people one evening, then wake up the next day finding it has lost thousands of some people overnight...

Maybe that's why its become a tad more jaded...perhaps impersonal even than the other stars we see at night...

I couldn't help writing to this simple and heartfelt post of yours...my apologies, Sir, if you consider it rude.

take care. God bless you.
